Probation & Parole Resources

This presentation is designed to help Probation and Parole Officers recognize and respond to the evolving threats of online child exploitation among supervised offenders. It outlines current trends—including sextortion, AI-generated sexual imagery, grooming through gaming and livestreams, and the use of encrypted or decentralized file-sharing platforms—and explains how these behaviors surface in the field.

Officers learn key indicators to watch for during contacts, practical interview questions to assess digital risk factors, and strategies for early evidence preservation and interagency coordination. The presentation reinforces the importance of collaboration with specialized task forces, such as the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force (SMCCTF), and highlights essential investigative tools and reporting resources.

The goal is to strengthen officer awareness, improve supervision outcomes, and ensure timely intervention when online behaviors present a threat to community or victim safety.
